One of the real gems in the Okanagan Valley is Oyama Lake situated between Kalamalka Lake and Wood Lake. This area of the valley is much more rural in nature with gentle hills rolling down towards the lakes and offering amazing home sites with views. Oyama has recently had the main Highway 97 rerouted off of the lakeshore which has greatly improved the quality of the shoreline. There are future plans to fully connect the Rail Trail from Vernon to Kelowna. This will create a pathway along the entire length of the lake. If you are looking for peaceful country living this may just be your best choice in the Kelowna region. All amenities can be found in near by Lake Country.
One spot you cannot miss is Gatzke Orchards & Cafe. This excellent farm tourism business is a family run affair. If you are looking for fresh fruit and vegetables, an ice cream for the kids or a great cup of coffee and some live music— this is the spot. Another local attraction is the Oyama Zip Lines and of course all of the great beaches on Kalamalka and Oyama Lake.
