To the courageous BC Wildfire Service crews, local municipal departments, and out-of-province firefighters, thank you for standing between the flames and our communities this past summer.
When the Bald Range wildfire threatened the Upper Princeton corridors and forced intense tactical evacuations in Peachland, your swift action and unyielding defense kept the community safe. Your immense efforts were just as critical along Westside Road, where crews battled the fast-moving Bradley Creek and Quilpituk Creek wildfires through relentless winds and treacherous terrain to save vacation properties and family homes.
Faced with fast-spreading valley grass and thick timber, you risked everything to establish lines in the sand and protect our neighborhoods.
Thank you for your sleepless nights, your bravery, and your unwavering commitment to bringing us safely back home.
The Central Okanagan owes you an eternal debt of gratitude.
